 Each year, the Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce celebrates the people and businesses who make our community shine. During our Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet, we recognize those whose innovation, service, and leadership have made a lasting impact on Tecumseh.

This evening of celebration is also when we honor our Board of Directors nominees and reveal the winners in each of our award categories — all chosen by you, our Chamber members.

🗳️ How the Nomination & Election Process Works

The Tecumseh Chamber’s award process is designed to reflect the voices of our membership. Here’s how it works:

1. Member Nominations
Each Chamber member receives an email invitation to nominate deserving individuals, organizations, and businesses for each award category. Nominations are open for a designated period to ensure every member has the opportunity to recognize excellence in our community.

2. Board of Directors Nominations
For open board positions, the Chamber Director, Kimberly Elliott, personally contacts each nominated individual, beginning with the candidate who received the highest number of nominations. Each person is asked if they would like to accept their nomination. This continues until all available board positions are filled in accordance with the Chamber’s By-Laws.

3. Final Ballots
For all other award categories, the top four nominees in each category are placed on the final election ballot. In the event of a tie, a small group of individuals — selected by the current board but not serving as board members — meets to determine the final nominees.

4. Member Voting
Once the ballot is finalized, a secure election survey is sent to all Chamber members. Voting remains open for two weeks, allowing members to cast their votes at their convenience.

5. Announcement of Winners
Winners are revealed during the Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet. The event features dinner, celebration, and recognition of those whose peers have chosen them as outstanding examples of leadership, service, and excellence.
